About Calyqen and its founder

Short founder bio

Born and bred in San Antonio, Nikita Tejwani is the 17-year-old founder of Calyqen AI and Caly Cares. A senior at Louis D. Brandeis High School, she builds practical AI tools and leads free career workshops with community organizations. Her work helps students and adult job seekers turn a confusing job search into clear next steps.

What Calyqen does

Calyqen AI brings job discovery, resume tailoring, interview preparation, application tracking, and follow-up guidance into one place. Caly Cares is its free community workshop initiative. Calyqen is currently free and in beta.

Nikita also created Meriqen, a separate scholarship discovery and planning platform. She was selected as Brandeis High School’s 2026 DAR Good Citizen.

Community results and the workshop model

One job. One resume. One application.

Participants work on a real opportunity, tailor their resume, and aim to submit an application during the session. Nikita adapts the workshop to the group’s experience and needs.

SA Youth staff have also been trained to continue supporting participants after the workshop.

2026 goal: reach 300 students and job seekers by December 31. This is a future target.

Results behind the totals

  • First two SA Youth workshops: 49 participants and 31 submitted applications.
  • Second SA Youth workshop: all 20 participants submitted a job application.
  • October 19 SA Youth session: 40 participants, her largest session to date.
  • First BiblioTech workshop: all three patrons applied; two built resumes from scratch.

These describe individual sessions and should not be added to the cumulative totals above.
