What the story covers
- How Calyqen began with Nikita watching her mother’s job search, and what it does: help people find jobs, prepare resumes and work through applications.
- Caly Cares, her free workshops, and the two sessions with SA Youth’s SOAR program after which participants submitted 31 job applications.
- Meriqen, the free scholarship finder she built after her own scholarship search.
- That she has paid for the projects herself from her bakery work, and that she wants technology to support people’s judgment rather than replace it.
“I thought I was going there to teach. But I keep coming back with things I learned too.”
