On BiblioTech On Air, BiblioTech’s official podcast, host Louis sat down with Nikita Tejwani, a 17-year-old San Antonio high school senior, to talk about Calyqen, the AI career ally she built after watching her mom’s job search, and Caly Cares, the free workshops that bring it into the community. She shares how her recent workshop at BiblioTech went, what it took to build an app while still in school, and her best advice for anyone stressed about a resume or an interview.

Louis: Hello everyone. Welcome to another episode of BiblioTech On Air, BiblioTech's official podcast. I'm Louis, and today I'm joined by a very special guest, the wonderful Nikita Tejwani.

00:11

Nikita Tejwani: Very nice to meet you.

00:12

Louis: Nice to see you.

00:13

Nikita Tejwani: Thank you so much for having me.

00:14

Louis: If you wouldn't mind just introducing yourself a bit, telling people what you do.

00:18

Nikita Tejwani: So I'm Nikita Tejwani, like you said, and I am born and bred here in San Antonio, Texas. Currently, I am a senior at Brandeis High School, so go Broncos. And some of my hobbies are baking, cooking, and I love, love, love traveling.

00:35

Louis: That's so wonderful. Oh my goodness. What do you like to bake? I have to ask.

00:38

Nikita Tejwani: I actually run a bakery as well.

00:41

Louis: Really? Oh my goodness.

00:42

Nikita Tejwani: So, I bake a lot of cakes and cupcakes is what I specialize in.

00:45

Louis: This isn't even what we have her here for, but I will talk to you about that later. That sounds wonderful. Oh my goodness. But the reason that we have you here today is actually to talk about — so you've started something known as Calyqen, as well as Caly Cares. Would you mind telling the audience what that is and how it's been progressing?

01:07

Nikita Tejwani: Yes. So Calyqen is an app that helps you from start to finish of getting a job or finding a role. And the inspiration behind it was my mom. My mom was initially in the job market, I think less than a year ago now, and I never kind of realized how difficult of a process that was.

Ready to try Calyqen for yourself?

Caly can help you find a real job, tailor your resume, and get ready for the interview — free.
